Lindsay Lohan Goes Back to Jail!

The charges against troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan have finally been decided on and the courts have arrived with a sentence for her, with Lohan changing her plea and effectively admitting to stealing a gold necklace from a jewelry store worth $2500.

Lindsay LohanJudge Stephanie Sautner bestowed upon Lindsay 120 days in jail, 480 hours of community service; and she has to be in jail by June 17. Just last month, the same judge ordered the same punishment for her and it’s double trouble for the starlet, whether she likes it or not.

On the brighter side, though, it’s rumored that Lindsay will just be behind bars for 16 or 17 days, and there’s even a possibility of putting her under house arrest, according to a Reuters report. The actress, after receiving the final judgment, released a statement saying that she’s “glad to be able to put this in the past and finally move on with my life and career.” This time the “Mean Girls” star admits to her faults, “I support the judge’s decision and hold myself accountable for being in this situation.”

In the last four years, Lohan has been struggling with her alcohol and drugs addiction problems, going in and out of jail due to her misdemeanors. Last January, she was accused of stealing the gold necklace from a store in Los Angeles but insisted that she was not guilty of doing so.

This week, her lawyers entered a no contest plea to a previously reduced charge of misdemeanor theft. Her lawyers were also quick to request for her jail sentence to be turned into a house arrest case or an electronic monitoring program since Los Angeles jails have become overcrowded.

Aside from her sentence, Lohan will also undergo complete psychological counseling and an anti-shoplifting program. Despite her drunk driving and cocaine possession arrests, Lindsay still has her luck as she is slated to be in a movie with actors John Travolta and Al Pacino in a feature about the New York Gotti crime family.

Lindsay Lohan to Work as Janitor in a Morgue!

The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner’s facility will have a very special cleaning lady, in the person of Lindsay Lohan.

Lindsay LohanYes, the starlet was sentenced to 120 days in jail and 480 hours of community service (360 hours of which will be spent at the Women’s Center on skid row) with a fourth, or 120 hours, to be spent at the Mission Road Coroner’s office.

Judge Stephanie Sautner last Friday gave Lindsay her sentence for violating the terms of her 2007 drunk driving probation when she committed theft at a jewelry store in Venice last January. The troubled actress will be performing janitorial services at the morgue; collecting and emptying trash bins, mopping floors of restrooms, and cleaning windows at the office.

Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter says that Lohan will not be given any special treatment during her time at the morgue. While she won’t be handling dead bodies, Lindsay will definitely see them.

The actress was able to post a $75,000 bail avoiding another 120 days in jail. She is given a week to enroll in her community service and up to a year to complete the total number of hours required from her by the law.

Judge Sautner reduced Lohan’s grand theft case into a misdemeanor which brought about her sentences. The judge is the third to handle the starlet’s case, following the previous judge who ruled for Lindsay to remain at the Betty Ford Rehab center instead of going to jail.

Lohan has been known to disrespect those who handle her cases. Judge Sautner has gotten her share by noting the expletive on Lindsay’s fingernails when they were in court last July. The judge says, “She walks into court with ‘F U’ on her fingernails. I don’t know what that means unless it has ‘I am’ before it.”

Judge Delays Sentence on Lindsay Lohan Theft Case

Lindsay Lohan’s theft case has become a lot more complicated than it was in the beginning. The judge handling the troubled starlet’s case has given her another two weeks to think things over and plead guilty to the case she’s being accused of. Lindsay is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace in January just weeks after she went out of rehab.

Lindsay LohanLos Angeles Court Judge Keith Schwartz has given the starlet and her lawyers another two weeks to come up with a deal that will allow the accused to plead guilty since until Thursday, which was the first deadline set by the judge, they still haven’t come up with anything amicable to both parties. This time, the judge has set the extension until March 25 and if things don’t get better, they will be appearing in a preliminary hearing on the 22nd of April with a new judge taking over Schwartz’s position.

Judge Schwartz has repeatedly warned the actress that she will be put back to jail if she does not plead guilty and abide by the court’s decisions on her case.

Lindsay has yet to bounce back from her alcohol and drug problems which have sent her career down the drain. Not so long ago, she starred in hit films such as “Freaky Friday” and “Mean Girls.” Her career would have gone far if it weren’t for the troubles that she went through which are still pretty much the same until now.

If her case reaches the April preliminary hearing, a new judge will be in charge and will decide if there is enough evidence to bring Lohan to trial. Her violations against her 2007 probation for drunk driving and drug addiction will also be weighed and when there is proof that she did violate the rules, it would be the starlet’s fourth time to go to jail.

Lindsay Lohan May Be Up for Jail Time Again!

Actress Lindsay Lohan may be headed for the slammer again, due to her failing court-mandated drug tests recently.

lindsay lohanLos Angeles defense attorney Trent Copeland gave the following comment to the New York Daily News: “There’s no question in my mind: she’s getting that 30-day jail sentence. (Her judge) took the unusual step of allowing her to be released from in-patient rehab early. Then within days she goes out and fails a drug test. She knew what she was risking.”

Ms. Lohan had tested positive for cocaine during a random drug test taken two weeks ago, and then failed a second test, which revealed amphetamines in her system. The random tests are part of the conditions handed down by the judge after her early release from rehab.

The Daily News had various sources, however, who said that Lindsay may not need to finish an entire 30-day sentence – should she get such a sentence – due to overcrowding, and for good behavior. She may actually end up spending only five days in jail.

Judge Elden Fox was informed about Ms. Lohan’s probation violation on Monday morning. Her probation has been revoked, and the judge has issued a no-bail bench warrant. She has a date with the court on Friday.

DUI attorney Paul Takakjian told the Daily News that the judge may hand down a sentence immediately: “If Judge Fox said on the record that she’d get 30 days for a dirty test, it’s highly unlikely she’ll receive anything less. He’d lose credibility… But he won’t exercise punitive control for the sake of being harsh. He’s one of the best judges we have and truly wants to help the people in his courtroom.”

Lindsay Lohan Leaves Rehab!

Lindsay Lohan has been released from rehab, according to a post on the Los Angeles Times. The actress was originally ordered to spend ninety days in rehab, but has been released from the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center after staying for only 22 days. Prior to her stay in rehab, Lohan served 13 days out of a ninety-day jail sentence.

Lindsay LohanMs. Lohan’s release from rehab, however, is accompanied by conditions released by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox. Fox ordered that Lindsay undergo intensive outpatient therapy for the next three months, which will include regular counseling and the need to stay in Los Angeles County. She will also be under supervised probation during this time.

The actress will have to comply with the following conditions: that she remain in Los Angeles Country for the duration of the supervised probation, that she undergo random drug testing twice a week, that she undergo psychotherapy four times a week and meet with counselors five times a week. Should Lindsay fail or miss a drug test, it will mean jail time for 30 days.

Lindsay’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley shared the following update with reporters after the hearing on Wednesday, where Judge Fox clarified the terms of the actress’ probation: “She has changed… She’s healthy, she’s clear-headed, she’s positive.”

Holley said further that her client’s early release was based on the fact that doctors concluded that there was no further need for Lindsay to stay in the facility: “They started their own fresh evaluation, put her through their own testing and recognized that there was no need for her to be there any longer.”

Lindsay Lohan Up for Early Release from Rehab?

Lindsay Lohan may not need to finish the full ninety days of rehab required of her, according to a post on RadarOnline.com. That certainly is nice to hear, but we can only hope that this is not being done prematurely and that the actress is truly free from whatever excesses she may have in her system.

Lindsay LohanThe revelation was said to have come from prosecutor Danette Mayers, prosecutor for Ms. Lohan’s case. RadarOnline.com shared the following statement from Mayers: “My understanding from conversations with Shawn Chapman Holley is that Miss Lohan could be released early from the treatment facility. It is looking as if that is what the health care professionals are going to recommend. How much earlier she could be released I’m unsure of at this point.”

Mayers indicated that she will adhere to what health care professionals will recommend for Ms. Lohan, which may include follow-up treatment.

Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to ninety days of jail time and rehab in July by Judge Marsha Revel, due to violating the terms of her probation. She was said to have missed alcohol education classes required of her as part of her probation on charges of drunken driving and cocaine possession leveled against her in 2007. Judge Revel has recused herself from the case.

She only served 13 days out of her ninety day sentence due to overcrowding. Lindsay then entered rehab at the UCLA Medical Center.

Shawn Chapman Holley, Lindsay’s attorney, told RadarOnline that Lindsay “looks healthy” and “is looking forward to returning to work.”
