Lindsay Lohan to Work as Janitor in a Morgue!
Posted by Drug Free in Alcohol Abuse, Drug Addiction on April 25th, 2011
The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner’s facility will have a very special cleaning lady, in the person of Lindsay Lohan.
Yes, the starlet was sentenced to 120 days in jail and 480 hours of community service (360 hours of which will be spent at the Women’s Center on skid row) with a fourth, or 120 hours, to be spent at the Mission Road Coroner’s office.
Judge Stephanie Sautner last Friday gave Lindsay her sentence for violating the terms of her 2007 drunk driving probation when she committed theft at a jewelry store in Venice last January. The troubled actress will be performing janitorial services at the morgue; collecting and emptying trash bins, mopping floors of restrooms, and cleaning windows at the office.
Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter says that Lohan will not be given any special treatment during her time at the morgue. While she won’t be handling dead bodies, Lindsay will definitely see them.
The actress was able to post a $75,000 bail avoiding another 120 days in jail. She is given a week to enroll in her community service and up to a year to complete the total number of hours required from her by the law.
Judge Sautner reduced Lohan’s grand theft case into a misdemeanor which brought about her sentences. The judge is the third to handle the starlet’s case, following the previous judge who ruled for Lindsay to remain at the Betty Ford Rehab center instead of going to jail.
Lohan has been known to disrespect those who handle her cases. Judge Sautner has gotten her share by noting the expletive on Lindsay’s fingernails when they were in court last July. The judge says, “She walks into court with ‘F U’ on her fingernails. I don’t know what that means unless it has ‘I am’ before it.”
Lindsay Lohan and Kombucha: Violation of Probation?
Posted by Drug Free in Alcohol Abuse, Drug Rehabilitation on March 21st, 2011
We realize that this post may have the weirdest of titles, like there is no logical explanation why these two phrases will be used together. However, several reports have been covering the role that a drink called Kombucha plays in the ongoing legal struggles that actress Lindsay Lohan has to face.
Kombucha is fermented tea, and Lindsay Lohan’s probation report revealed that she has been drinking the beverage, which has an alcohol content of 0.5% or less – an amount that is essentially negligible. On the website of Synergy drinks, which distribute Kombucha commercially, one can find the following message: “Rethink your drink. Some call it a tea, some call it an elixir, but no matter what you call it, Kombucha is a miracle, and it’s been used around the world for centuries to help promote health and wellness.”
TMZ.com has multiple stories about Ms. Lohan’s apparent penchant for Kombucha. On one such post, the site shared that the product was taken off the shelves of Whole Foods, over concerns that the alcohol content indicated in its label may not be accurate. What this means is that some drinkers may be taking in more alcohol than they bargained for.
GT Dave of Synergy told TMZ, however, that “although we are not familiar with the technology or sensitivity of SCRAM bracelets, we think it would be highly unlikely that our products would trigger an alarm.” Ms. Lohan is currently wearing a SCRAM bracelet.
A report on TMZ.com indicated that Ms. Lohan’s Kombucha-drinking has been added by the L.A. County Probation Department to the list of reasons why the judge should consider that she is in violation of her probation, and that she should be ordered to go to jail.
Will It Be Jail for Lindsay After Betty Ford Controversy?
Posted by Drug Free in Alcohol Abuse, Drug Rehabilitation on December 26th, 2010
Actress Lindsay Lohan is in the hot seat once again after an employee of the Betty Ford Center, where she is currently in a court-ordered stay, accused her of assault after an alleged drunken encounter.
While Lindsay has denied the allegations, and her accuser, Dawn Holland, has been fired by Betty Ford, the question remains: what is in store for the young actress after this episode? She is, after all, still on probation in a DUI case, and this new development, if proven, constitutes a violation of her probation.
According to a feature on People.com, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden Fox had threatened Ms. Lohan with more jail time, if she is found to be in violation of her probation.
Richard Hirsch, a criminal defense attorney in Los Angeles who is not involved in the case, told People.com: “If the latest allegations are true, it just spells disaster for Lindsay… After all the chances she’s had, the judge may have no other option left.”
The feature recalled Lindsay’s failed drug test from a couple of months back, where she was spared more jail time by Judge Fox, who was convinced that what Lindsay needed was further treatment from her self-admitted addiction. She was instead ordered to stay at the Betty Ford Center until January 3.
Steve Sitkoff, another Los Angeles criminal attorney, said: “Judge Fox isn’t one to make idle threats… Especially if he decides that Lindsay was the instigator in the scuffle with the Betty Ford employee, that’ll make him more likely to punish her with jail instead of treatment.”
Lindsay Lohan Headed Back to Rehab on Monday
Posted by Drug Free in Alcohol Abuse, Drug Addiction, Drug Testing on September 28th, 2010
More news on actress Lindsay Lohan: she is reportedly headed back into rehab on Monday. This time around, though, she is checking herself in voluntarily, at least based on information from a source close to the actress. This was shared in a feature on CNN.
Ms. Lohan spent some time in jail again after failing a random drug test. She spent 13 days in jail and 23 days in a court-mandated rehab program at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center just last month. The actress was originally ordered to spend 90 days each in jail and in rehab, but was released early. This time around, she spent 14 hours in jail.
Lohan admitted to the failed drug test last week, and sent out the following tweet: “Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night… I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps.”
One positive step is going into rehab voluntarily, something that her dad Michael Lohan, at least according to him, has been pushing for, He said: “Finally, they listened to me.” He expressed hope that Shawn Chapman Holley, his daughter’s lawyer, would do “the right thing and advises her to go right into rehab now, and show the judge she’s serious, because in 30 days when she goes back before the judge he can do whatever he wants.”
Lindsay Lohan was released on $300,000 bail. The bail terms called for Lindsay to be fitted with an alcohol monitoring bracelet. A probation revocation hearing had been scheduled for October 22.
Lindsay Lohan Talks to Vanity Fair About Personal Struggles

A few days after her recent sentence was handed down, actress Lindsay Lohan gave an interview to Vanity Fair and talked about, among other things, alcohol and drugs. A feature on USA Today showed excerpts of the interview with the magazine, which is included in an issue that has Lindsay on the cover, due to hit newsstands on September 7.
One of the things that the actress says may have led to what can only be described as a series of unfortunate events in her personal life is being around the wrong sort of people. She also denied being an alcoholic, or abusing prescription drugs – something that her dad Michael Lohan had hinted at, to say the least, quite a few times. She told Vanity Fair: “If I were the alcoholic everyone says I am, then putting a [scram] bracelet on would have ended me up in detox, in the emergency room…”
Lindsay also said that while she does admit to “dabbling in certain things and trying things ’cause I was young and curious and thought it was like, O.K., ’cause other people were doing it and other people put it in front of me,” she denies ever abusing prescription drugs, nor having the desire to do so.
The interview inevitably included questions about her father Michael, and Lindsay reacted to the fact that he gave an interview immediately after attending her probation hearing.
There is one thing that Lindsay is confident about, however: “I don’t care what anyone says. I know that I’m a damn good actress.”
Well, it looks like Lohan might have to behave and keep it low at her Venice home or face the wrath of Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner. According to a
