As of this writing, actress Lindsay Lohan may be released from jail, as several news reports talked about her pending release. A report on the New York Daily News shared that the star’s discharge window opened a minute after midnight Sunday, and media reportedly waited whether the actress will leave Lynwood prison and proceed to Morningside Recovery, a rehab facility at Orange County.
Ms. Lohan began her 90-day jail sentence on July 20 for violating probation of a DUI case from 2007. Her sentence also included spending 90 days in inpatient rehab. Originally, the terms of the sentence gave Lindsay a 24-hour break after completing her jail sentence before starting rehab; according to the Daily Times feature, Judge Marsha Revel reportedly changed her ruling last week and has ordered that the actress proceed to rehab immediately.
Shawn Chapman Holley, Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer, did not confirm the said change as she claimed she has not seen such an order; Chapman Holley visited the jail early on Sunday. She said: “I’m hoping that she’ll have time to spend with her family before she goes to rehab… she has tried to comply with all the court’s orders.”
An initial report on TMZ.com, indicated that Morningside Recovery was chosen by Judge Marhsa Revel even if it is not among the facilities recommended by two court-appointed doctors. Lindsay will be undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder and addiction to methamphetamines and opiates. A follow-up report from TMZ, however, reveals that the actress may be heading to the UCLA Medical Center, which is in the top four facilities listed by the doctors.
